I think i just realized what happened to erens father: after his father injected him with the titan transformation substance, eren immediately ate his father then and there before transforming back.

so they are finally realizing what was kinda obvious since the second episode? atleast we know how that theres titan injection and that eating a human seems to break the spell somewhat. but at the pace we are going we probably wont see this hometown until season 3
