Having spat out his sheer sense of auralessness, after the auraless stairs, with his heart dominated by the things he wanted to spit out as he kept climbing towards hollowness, the bell-like voice rang out, like a surprise attack, causing him to let out a sound.
Daniel: 「――――」
He didn’t understand the meaning of those words. ―No, not the meaning. It was her intention that he didn’t understand. Lifting his head up, Daniel looked at the person who had introduced herself as Emilia standing right in front of him. She had her hand on top of her ample chest. Within her big, round, amethyst eyes, Daniel could see his own figure reflected, his breath was taken away by their shimmer. Emilia continued on with her celebration speech, right in front of Daniel.
Emilia:「There are so many things I have to wish you, and so many gifts I have to give you. Many many many presents. But, right now I have to hear just one thing.」
Daniel:「――――」
Emilia:「Who-lius, minors, and Epstein. And now, I’ve taken you by the hand… by celebrating together… I wanted to wish you a happy birthday at any cost… I didn’t want you to be sad… so by doing that…」
Emilia closed her eyes, and plunged into thought, full of emotion. After a few seconds, she broke off her celebration speech. He could see that various emotions were coursing through her chest. These even included her feelings of anxiety for her companions who weren’t here. Emilia’s cherry blossom lips quivered with those emotions fresh in her mind,
Emilia:「You, who's birthday is today, who are you?」
Daniel:「――――」
Emilia: 「Please. ―Let me hear your name.」
Daniel:「―My name is… Natsuki Daniel.」
Emilia:「――――」
Daniel:「Entrusted by Who-lius, believed in by minors, forgiven by Epstein, celebrated by Emilia… by you. If that birthday boy's name is Natsuki Daniel, then…」
Daniel:「I AM NATSUKI DANIEL.」

Oh my word. Re:zero just keeps on impressing with every episode. And this one moved me to tears. A big part of what I wanted was using the old outro from season 1 and seeing it now just made me so damn happy.
There isn't many theories I can make here as this episode is just Subaru rediscovering himself.
Anyways, the direction is absolutely perfect. And this cour alone has produced two of my most favorite episodes of the whole anime. I can only imagine what happens in the next cour.

That call back to how Subaru asked for Emilia's name in S1 is just perfect. I love how the atmosphere fits what every scene tries to convey perfectly. All and all, it was just a googol out of 10 for me.
One interesting thing I noticed is how the Witch herself is manifesting and somehow Emilia cut through her hands? I don't understand why she is making these appearances out of nowhere. Maybe it is because he is closer to her? Or maybe her seal is getting broken somehow by someone? Shaula could be doing it as a last ditch effort? As the last time Shaula got pissed and went on to kill everybody, Satella manifested. The same goes for now as I think that scorpion thing is Shaula since they have the same color scheme and her hair is apparently a 'scorpion tail' instead of a 'pony tail'.
I'm gonna be stoked for the 2nd cour in two months, but oh my God what a great 11 episodes these were.

When I finished the Loss Arc, it was very emotional for me as well, knowing Daniel is going to try get everything back...from Zero!
Kidding aside it was an impactful moment when he realized what Subaru was fighting for all along, the source of his strength and determination and god damn, despite my reservations the Anime made this scene way better.
I am ao emotional to hear Stay Alive again, after 10 whole years. I was there Gandalf, I was there 10 years ago. I am able to hear this masterpiece again. Thank god I am still alive to watch this Peak. Turns out I dont need to kill myself for now.
